Born in Ealing, West London in 1995 but moved with her mother and grandparents, to North Cornwall when she was 2 years old.
Her family will tell you that she was singing (of sorts) even before she was talking properly and a favourite way to keep her entertained was to watch an old video of the Three Tenors!
Maisie’s talent for singing was first noticed by a primary school teacher called Mrs Richards and she gained the part of a singing angel in the Trevisker CP school nativity.
Keen to act and dance as well as sing, she joined Stage Coach in Truro, where, under the guidance of Joy Clarkson and teacher Eily Tatlow, she began to learn the craft of musical theatre and performance. It was on a trip with Eily Tatlow that Maisie got her first taste of singing internationally when she competed in the Nile International Song Festival.
When Maisie was 11 years old she sat the 11+ exams in the hope of gaining a place at Truro High School. Fortunately she was successful and won an art and music scholarship. The classical training she has received from Heather Mee and music and piano tuition from Director of Music, Frances Eager and Sally Carpenter, have really developed her voice and understanding of composition and music.
Truro High has also afforded Maisie the opportunity of performing in many countries as part of the school choir. Her favourite trips so far have been to New York and Hong Kong.
Maisie likes all genres of music but especially loves performing jazz and classical crossover pieces. Her favourite singers range from Charlotte Church and Etta James to Michael Buble and Lady Gaga and her all time favourite icon is Audrey Hepburn.
