Wow!
Open Mic UK is a singing competition which searches for the UK’s best singers and songwriters of all genres. The qualifying rounds were held all over the UK and I got through the Bristol audition into the regional final where I sang the popular classical crossover song ‘Time to Say Goodbye’.
The feedback from the judges was amazing and I managed to qualify for the Area Final which takes place at the Beck Theatre which is in London on 20th November. I’m not sure what I am going to sing in that round but I know that song choice is a really important decision. It’s also vital to get your look right and be fully rehearsed so that it looks as if the stage is my second home even if I am nervous inside. I really, really want to do well because success at the Area Final means going through to the Grand Final and that’s being held at The Indigo, O2.
I don’t dare to think about it – I will just sing and perform as well as I can!
